West Ward

Where is West Ward?

Chatswood West Ward is part of the Willoughby City Council Local Government Area (LGA), located in Sydney’s northern suburbs, and about 9 kilometres from the Sydney GPO.

Chatswood West Ward is one of four wards in the Willoughby City LGA. The other wards are Middle Harbour, Sailors Bay and Naremburn.

West Ward is bounded by Blue Gum Creek, Corina Avenue and Boundary Street in the north; the railway line, Ashley Street, Archer Street, Victoria Avenue and Claude Street in the east; Mowbray Road West and Mowbray Road in the south; and the Lane Cove River in the west. The boundaries of Chatswood West Ward are shown in green on the map below.

Holy Trinity Mowbray Anglican Church on the corner of Beaconsfield Rd and Dalrymple Ave, Chatswood, was initially erected, in the 1850s, near the corner of Mowbray Rd and Pacific H’way. After use as a School of Arts, Council Chambers and a school chapel, it was moved stone by stone to its present site in 1957.
The map shows the extent of the West Ward ( marked in the darker green).
